RESOURCESAT 1 e 2 - Indian Remote Sensing Satellite

From Indian Program of Earth Observation Satellites, DGI provides images of ResourceSat-1 and 2, which offers a wide possibility of access to images in various resolutions and therefore applications, specialized satellites collect data thematically.

The main goal of the mission is to provide remote sensing data to support the Indian economic development, but ResourceSat-1 and 2 satellites data are also distributed to other countries, including Brazil, according the Brazilian policy for the distribution of free images. Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) launched ResourceSat-1 on 17/04/2003 and ResourceSat-2 on 20/04/2011. This Earth Observing System is suitable for work in agriculture, the use of surveys and coverage of land, crop monitoring, in addition to acting in studies of urban areas and cartography. ResourceSat-2 operates with three sensing instruments similar to those offered by its predecessor with better radiometric and spectral resolution.
